Her face with serene expression, almond-shaped eyes, broad nose, smiling lips, broken elongated earlobes, floral-engraved tiara in front of her conical-shaped chignon, stand. 30cm (11 3/4in) high. (2). Provenance: Robert Rousset, Paris (1901-1981), acquired from Capital Antique, Bangkok, 30 August 1967 Jean-Pierre Rousset, Paris (1936-2021) An unusually small representation of a female deity from this period and curious surface of the stone has inclusion across the chest and face. Also notable is the wide pleat of her sampot that flares to each side beneath a large overhanging flap. The wide pleat is shared by a torso from the Natasha Eilenberg Collection (sold at New York, 11 September 2012, lot 8) and another male torso of the same style in Christie's New York, 20 March 2012, lot 172.
