Ca. 200 ADA heavy gold finger ring of a round hoop expanding to support a bezel set with a stone intaglio engraved with a bust of the god Attis depicted as a young male wearing a Phrygian hat. Attis was the consort of Cybele in Phrygian and Greek mythology. His priests were eunuchs, the Galli, as explained by origin myths pertaining to Attis and castration. Attis was also a Phrygian god of vegetation.
