A late 19th century Italian carved marble and alabaster sculpture. Depicting a young woman adjacent to a ledge supporting a covered box. Sculpture most likely originally had a lamp post at side of figure. Presented on an orange marble base, measuring H 32" overall.Cracks observed throughout (notably to resting thumb, feet, base, and figures waistline). Repairs associated with cracks apparent. The front-facing figure has two impact abrasions to the torso. This piece was likely part of an electrified lamp.
