Model ref. M1016/0, circa 1972. Serial number 296xxxx, bracelet no. 7836, Rolex service certificate dated 20/07/2022, with original box. This watch is in exceptional original condtion. This Rolex Explorer belonged to L H Watson, MC, FIA, who joined the Prudential Assurance Company from Cambridge University. In the Second World War he joined the Gurkhas where he was promoted to Major and won the Military Cross. He returned to the Prudential after the war, becoming an Actuary. On his retirement in 1973 he was presented with this watch which he wore only on special occasions. On his death in 1983 the watch was put in a drawer by his wife and it remained there until her recent passing at the age of 100. Winds and runs.
