Splendid pair of girandoles, KPM Berlin, marks 1962-1992, 1st choice, decor ''Breslauer Stadtschloss'' (Wroclaw City Palace), 5-light; a raised round base supported by foliate volutes, merging into a three-sided, multi-structured baluster shaft. From this five curved chandelier arms with leaf-relieved spouts above a plate-like bowl. All around rich, rocaille-shaped relief decoration as well as plastically applied blossom tendrils. On the wall, in gold contoured reserves, framed, colourful flower bouquets and bunches alternating with background fields of blue scale mosaic. Fine polychrome painting with rich gold decoration. H. 61 cm. In 1767 Friedrich Elias Meyer was commissioned by Friedrich II of Prussia to design the ''Rocaille'' dinner service to decorate the city palace in Breslau.
