林风眠，初名凤鸣，又名绍勤，广东梅县人。1920年赴法国勤工俭学，先后入迪戎美术学院、巴黎高等美术学院学习，受业师杨西斯启迪，遂有沟通中西艺术之志向。1925年回国，历任北平国立艺专校长，杭州国立西湖艺术院院长，国立杭州艺专校长。1949年后，任上海中国画院画师，上海美协副主席。文革中受迫害，晚年居香港。 出版：《海上遗珍：林风眠1958-1965油画素描作品全集》P39，中国民族文化出版社，2020年6月。
