本品敞口直腹平砂足，胎体厚重，胎质坚白，器型修长挺拔为崇祯时期笔筒典型器型，釉色莹亮，口部和胫足部均有暗刻饰带，以青花装饰，繪《西厢记》人物故事题材；张生赶考；画中人物，一主一仆，行色匆匆，正跋涉于山水之间，人物绘画传神，衣带鲜明，褶皱自然流畅，再衬以山石芭蕉垂柳芳草，一派人在旅途之情景跃然器表，整器青花发色匀净恬淡，为典型崇祯时期发色，实为崇祯精品之作，值得收藏。
