Note: R-A Lienhard was established in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Neuchatel, Switzerland, in 1895. They produced engine-turning (or Brocade) machines to supply watch and jewelry makers. His first patent was established for the design of a machine that produced background patterns and low-relief foreground patterns, the first of its kind. Nicholas S.
