Central Europe, Switzerland, Nyon, ca. late 18th to early 19th century CE. A beautiful porcelain teapot with a blue on white floral motif inspired by Chinese export ware. The cylindrical body has an elegant arched handle, a squat spout with perforations on the interior to filter tea leaves, and a petite lid with conical knob and vent hole. The surface is decorated with a sparse underglaze of dark cobalt blue in tendril vine and floral motifs. The base is signed with a simple fish marked associated with Nyon.
