Native American, Southwestern United States, Arizona, Kayenta Heartland / Flagstaff region, Ancestral Pueblo (Anasazi), ca. 1150 to 1250 CE. A pretty pottery pitcher boasting intricately painted black-on-white decoration of mesmerizing geometric motifs. Vertical, zigzag striations adorn the neck, while the body displays a complex pattern of interlocking spiral, jagged, square, and triangular designs. The ancient vessel features a rounded base and a bulbous body that tapers to a sloped shoulder and a gently flared rim with a trifurcated, ribbon-form handle connecting upper neck to shoulder.
