Great pair of Chinese elephants. Possibly altar pieces. They look like bookends, but they will not hold books very well, as they are light weight and flop over when trying to hold books. Covered with an orange lacquer which is consistent with a dating of 19th century or earlier. Excellent condition- one is missing a tusk. Each of these elephants is 8" long, 5.75" tall, 3" deep.
