Edition of approximately 40. A superb impression of this scarce and important print. This view is similar to Whistler s The Riva No 1 and The Riva No 2 (Kennedy 192 and 206), form the opposite direction. While Whistler s view is probably taken from the Casa Jankovitz, where he lived with Duveneck s students at the time, Duveneck s is likely seen from his balcony at the Casa Kirsch. Although it is much debated, it is said that Whistler s Riva etchings were inspired by Duveneck. Catalogue Raisonne: Poole 13. Framed under glass, H 22.5", W 18".品相报告: As viewed in the unopened frame: Very good condition with no visible issues. Please note all lots show signs of wear commensurate with age and use, and the lack of a statement regarding condition does not imply the lot is in perfect condition or completely free from defects or the effects of aging.
