JOAN PERE VILADECANS (Barcelona, 1948).Lot comprising:-Fifteen photographs of Viladecans, years 60-70.-Book MANUEL VAZQUEZ, "Viladecans: Compassió i Geometria". Ed Poligrafia, 1980.Provenance: Antonio Orzaez Private Collection (1933-2021).Size: 18 x 24 cm (large photograph); 21 x 21 cm (book). This set belongs to the personal collection of Antoni Orzaez, the artists' photographer. His work at the Sala Gaspar led him to capture and get to know the lives of many artists who are essential to the history of art. In many cases his closeness with them turned into friendship, as for example with Viladecans who personally gave him many works, dedicating them to him with great affection.Self-taught, Viladecans became known in 1967 through an exhibition at the Cercle de Sant Lluc in Barcelona. The success of this exhibition brought him early recognition, and since then he has held exhibitions in Spain, Canada, Germany, Mexico, the United States, Belgium, the United Kingdom and Luxembourg. His solo exhibitions include the Seville Expo (1992), the UNTER DM in Cologne (2001), the Berlin exhibition of his work on paper (2003) and two in Barcelona, "Síntomas y Enfermedades" and "Patrimonio y Memoria", in 2006 and 2007 respectively. Viladecans began his career profoundly influenced by two of the most renowned Catalan artists of the 20th century, Antoni Tàpies and Joan Brossa.
