SIMÓ BUSOM GRAU (Barcelona, 1927)."Interior".Silkscreen on paper, copy 9/199.Signed and justified by hand.Damaged.Measurements: 54 x 73,5 cm.Busom was a pupil of Juan Lahosa at the Baixas Academy in Barcelona, where he studied technical and artistic drawing. He studied the masters of the Italian Renaissance, and in the 1950s he successfully experimented with watercolour. During his formative years he was also influenced by the French painter Victorin Galière and the Catalan painter, teacher and art critic Rafael Benet. Despite all this, he can be considered as a mainly self-taught artist who evolved from constructivist and cubist periods towards a post-fauvism with an agile and free style. He has a great knowledge, both theoretical and practical, of oil painting, watercolour, engraving and lithography, techniques which he works with great mastery. His works are currently in the most important collections in Spain, notably the Reina Sofía, the Modern Art Museum in Pontevedra, the Huesca Museum and the Valls Museum.
