He has been working as an artist for over 20 years, creating photographs, three-dimensional objects, videos and installation works in which the human body figures both conceptually and formally. Vázquez offers a series of semiotic constructions that navigate identity, ritual, politics and anthropological research. Themes include the duality of language and meaning and the relationship between nature and culture. She was artist-in-residence at Cuerpos Pintados, Fundación América in Santiago de Chile in 2002 and was part of the Proyecto 'ace Art Center in Buenos Aires in 2006.
