A mid Victorian, 18ct gold and silver, oval, mixed-cut, colour change sapphire and old, single and rose-cut diamond pendant:, calculated sapphire weight ca. 9.20cts, total estimated old-cut diamond weight ca. 9cts, to a later belcher-link chain, length of pendant inc. bale ca. 3.8cms, length of chain ca. 37.5cm, weight of pendant ca. 9.6gms. * Notes Apanied by: report 21709 dated 20/5/22 from the Gem & Pearl Laboratory stating it is a: 'natural sapphire' and a 'transparent blue exhibiting a change of colour' with 'no evidence of heat treatment' from 'Sri Lanka'.*Provenance, a gift from Rear Admiral Sir William Edward Parry to his daughter Lucy Coote (nee Parry), quite possibly on her marriage to Admiral Robert Coote in February 1854.
