Golden Savonnette Circa 1890. case no. 114592. Unmarket iron bridge movement with ornamental finish, lever escapement, blued Breguet hairspring, screw compensation balance, 3 screwed chatons, jewels, crown winding, starts. White enamel dial with Roman hours and gold Arabic minutes on the minute ring, small seconds and Louis Quinze hands, marked "N° 114592". 18 kt hallmarked Swiss hallmark Helvetia, crown mark, gold dust cover, marked "Pateck Geneve Nickel". Ø 5,2 cm. Total 101 g (gold weight 39,5 g). Guilloche jump lid case with engraved empty coat of arms reserve Case rubbed, bail was probably replaced. The success of prestigious watchmakers such as Patek, Czapek & Cie (later Patek, Philippe & Cie) already in the mid-19th century prompted smaller manufactories to produce watches of equally high quality and provide them with imitation brand names. The brand name Pateck Genève was used by the Swiss manufacturer Armand Schwob & Frère and banned in the course of a lawsuit for infringement of the rights to the name from 1890/91.
