Very finely painted portrait of the queen in coronation regalia after Frans Pourbus the Younger Maria de Medici (1575 Florence - 1642 Cologne) was the 2nd wife of Henry IV and thus Queen of France since 1600. After the assassination of Henry in 1610, she took over the regency for several years for her son, later Louis XIII .
