金刚铃代表智慧与女性，具摧破、坚固二德，有摧破烦恼之功。在修法中，主要为督励众生精进，警觉、劝请佛菩萨，令彼等欢喜之用。通常修行者右手持金刚杵，左手摇金刚铃使之发出悦耳的声音，此件金刚铃与本场32号九股金刚杵特征相类，应为同一时代同一风格之作，更为难得。
此件金刚铃顶设宝珠，柄首为摩羯鱼口吐八股环绕中心，呈九股形制，传世中十分少见，弥足珍贵。柄首下接三层莲台，铃身顶部以莲瓣装饰，上下分饰联珠纹与浮雕纹饰。包浆厚重，气息古雅，造型庄重，殊为珍贵。
