玉壶春之得名最开始或为一种美酒，而清高宗的御制诗有言"古瓶盛酒后簪花，花酒由来本一家"可巧妙的点明玉壶春之由来。本品造型雅致端庄，撇口、束颈、垂腹、下承圈足。通体罩施窑变釉，色泽圆融交汇，瑰丽明妍，除天然釉色外别无繁饰，展现纯粹釉色之美。其釉丰腴俏艳，明朗润泽，虽然人工，却道法自然，釉彩水乳交融，变幻莫测，以此配花，可谓相得益彰。
