Cast in two parts and screw-mounted. Depicted in uniform wearing the knight s cross of the Saxon order of merit and loyalty. Abraham Gottlob Werner (1749 - 1817) was an important German mineralogist, active at the Mining Academy in Freiberg. He was awarded the Saxon Order of Merit in 1816, one year before his death.Black patinated cast iron, slightly mottled on the reverse.
