Probably 18th century, early Qing dynasty, featuring 5 lions having curly manes and tails on body - two on side playing with ball, three on the other side - amongst swirling clouds, all in underglaze blue on white body. Featuring a band of ruyi and bats entwined on shoulder. The large round cover having a blue-glazed lion, and hand painted asymmetrical decoration of plantain tree on one side, with wide everted rim.
