Measurements: Height: 21.5" Diameter/Depth: 16" Chinese Qing Dynasty Period, Yongzheng dragon porcelain reward vase. Chinese porcelain potted in reward shape vase, thick and tall, globular lower body, tapered gracefully toward straight tall cylindrical neck, with straight mouth rim, raised on a flat small round foot base. The exterior decorated by applying of wucai design color, a variety of five-colored pigments creates bold opaque hand-painting of snarling huge imperial five claws dragon careening through cumulus clouds above thrashing Li-shui waves in a deep green color dragon squama to chasing flaming pearl amidst flames and vapors, enclosed with repeating interlocking key fret on the upper mouth rim. Dragon is the symbol of the Emperor, the Son of Heaven, eternity, Yang and Yin, male vigor and fecundity, the Li-shui wave pattern which is known to be the abode of dragons. The glaze is seamless and gives off a beautiful luster, with the colors maintaining excellent vibrancy. Mark on base, a six blue script characters reign mark, Yongzheng Reign Period of Great Qing Dynasty.
