PROVENANCE:From St Matthew, Kentucky, Private Collectors.Measurements: Width: 33cm, Height: 43cm Chinese Ming Dynasty Yongle Blue and White Porcelain celestial vase . The porcelain potted in vase shape, thick and tall, globular lower body, cylindrical neck, raised on a short ring foot base with slight concave. Hand painted ornamentations are rendered in blue and white color, depicted of protuberant mountain rock over thrashing Lishui wavy waves. The Li - shui wave pattern which is known to be the abode of dragons. When shown with the heavenly pearl, sometimes ball, it represents thunder and the storm. Emblem of vigilance and safety, and frequently associated with the idea of joy. The underside unglazed, revealed the pale - creme ground revealed and dark greyish brown spotted firing marks and edge - cut foot rim. Made in The Years Yongle Reign Period of The Great Ming Dynasty.
