Circa 202 BC-220 AD A large terracotta figure in the form of warrior, wearing a thigh-length robe painted in buff cream, green and red pigment, his eyes, nose, and mouth well-articulated, his with a serene expression, his face clean shaven, his eyes rounded, eyebrows long, the head posing upright looking up, his right arm outstretched towards the sky, hand with two pointed fingers, as if signalling towards direction. He is adorning a stylised cloth cap upon his head. This piece has been precisely dated by means of a Thermo Luminescence analysis carried out by Ralf Kotalla, an independent German Laboratory. The samples collected date the piece to the period reflected in its style, whilst also showing no modern trace elements. The TL certificate with its full report will apany this lot. Size: L:540mm / W:280mm; 4.3kg Provenance: UK private collection; formerly acquired in the early 1990s in Hong Kong.
