Circa 2700 BC Large ceramic vessel, a round-bodied bowl, wider than it is tall, with a narrow, round mouth and a slightly raised, thin rim. Harappan artistic representations of both animals and humans are renowned for their technical achievements at an early date. Size: L:450mm / W:450mm; 8.5kg Provenance: From the private collection of a Central London gentleman; previously in a collection formed on the UK/European art market before 2000.
