Circa 1000-1100 AD, Possibly Persia Seljuk model of a Cow with attacking lion biting into its hump. Bronze with silver calligraphic inlay. The figure of a lion biting into its prey dates to pre-Islamic times and can be seen in numerous ancient cultures in mosaics, coins, and frescos. The most famous Islamic attacking lion motif can be seen at the Umayyad palace of Khibit al-Mafjar in Jordan.
