Translation provided by Youdao
Circa 100-300 AD, Imperial Period An aesthetically pleasing vessel formed of siliver undoubtedly made to be a beaker for holding wine, with a hemispherical lower body, flattened base, and tapering upper body that eventually flares out to an incredibly thin rim. Silver vessels belonged to the Roman elite and were made by skilled silversmiths; the wealthy used them at banquets, displayed them in their homes, and were buried with them after death. Size: L:180mm / W:155mm; 415g Provenance: Property of a central London Gallery; formerly in a 1980s UK collection.
