Circa 300 BC A pottery vessel with a globular body and tapering neck, everted rim and strap handle to the rear, the body with circumferential bands of red or brown pigment. The Daunian culture were an Italic tribe inhabiting Northern Apulia in Classical antiquity before the Greek expansion in southern Italy. Starting in the Late Bronze Age (1000 BC), a local ceramic production was developed in the region, characterized by a light-coloured purified clay and decoration with simple geometric patterns.
