Circa 300 BC A pottery vessel with a globular bulbous body and tapering neck, everted rim, with two loop handles facing outwards, the body consists of a large band of red painted decoration to the centre, in between multiple thin linear lines encircling the body. A small foot base allowing the user to easily stand the vessel upright to protect precious liquids inside. Size: L:245mm / W:250mm; 1.9kg Provenance: Property of a central London Gallery; formerly in a South English estate collection; acquired in the 1990s from Andre de Munter, Brussels, Belgium; previously in an old European collection.
