Circa 200 AD A cast bronze decorative tripod stand with an oil lamp. The feet are rounded, abstract forms that suggest the paws of an animal; a heavy, skirt-like form is around the legs. Above that is an elegant, columnar leg with various disc-like forms along its length. It is capped by a steep-walled, circular bowl with a spike through it to attach to the lamp. The lamp with head of Cupid, conjoined by a mirror. Size: L:520mm / W:198mm; 3kg Provenance: Property of a North London professional; previously acquired on the UK art market in early 1990s; ex. Munro Walker collection.
