|砚作平板状，灵璧石质，石色黝黑，石质坚致。灵璧石是我国太湖石、灵璧石、英石、昆石“四大赏石”之一。因产于安徽灵璧而得名。是一种集质、声、形、色诸美为一身，在源远流长的中国石文化中占有重要地位，是古往今来公认的赏石瑰宝。相传早在宋代，大书法家米芾就因深爱灵璧石而将为之痴狂，拜石藏石，还不惜用自己的别墅还回一座灵璧砚山，并书写了名传古今的“研山铭”之书法名作。成为古今砚林轶事。此方砚砖造型方正，通体光素无纹，唯砚体伴生有灵璧石白色石线，其通体包浆隐隐，为砚林少见者。配黄花梨攒装天地盖砚盒，攒装精整牢靠。
