A Chinese blue and white porcelain snuff bottle dating from the 19th century. The rectangular body features decoration on all four sides. One side has the image of a military general, while the opposite side has a poem inscribed within a circular frame. The two smaller sides have shorter inscriptions, and most of the edges of the bottle are outlined in blue. The shoulder has floral decoration, and the neck has a band with a drop pattern. The bottom has a 4-character mark. The stopper has a metal spoon. Dimensions are: 2 3/4 inches tall X 1 5/8 inches long X 7/8 inches wide, 7 cm X 4.1 cm X 2.2 cm. All measurements are approximate. Condition: There is a large chip to the foot with evidence of repair. There is general age wear to the surface of the bottle, including glaze loss to the corners.
