Description
Translation provided by Youdao
A Chinese lotus-shaped jadeite brush washer dating from the 19th century. It comes with a matching wooden stand. The dark green jadeite is carved into the shape of a large lotus leaf accompanied by a smaller leaf and a lotus bud. Upon the larger leaf are two tiny frogs. The underside of the washer is carved with plant stems which have a brown jadeite skin. Dimensions are: 1 inches tall X 12 3/4 inches long X 9 1/2 inches wide, 2.5 cm X 32.4 cm X 24.1 cm. All measurements are approximate. Condition: There is very minor chipping present on the stems and edges of the leaves, but the washer is in overall good condition with natural variation to the stone. The stand has some wear. A reminder that all lots are sold as-is. We have sought to record the changes in the condition of this piece after its initial manufacture as diligently as possible; however, as stated in our terms, condition reports are statements of opinion and not representations or warranties. Oakridge Auction Gallery bears no responsibility for any error or omission. Provenance: From a private collector in Southern California. Notes: High resolution photos can be found here.
