闽北有窑，宋烧黑瓷，釉面盈润光洁，纤俊秀逸，迎光而视，宛若五色天虹，顿挫明灭，以兔毫、油滴，闻名于世，人尽惜之。福建建阳窑致力于烧制茶盏，年年进贡内廷。在日本，宋代建窑茶盏广得崇敬爱慕，其日文名称「天目」也随之流传千里，成为现今通称此类黑釉器盏之名。黑釉茶盏多藏于佛寺，用之奉茶以养身心，茶碗质朴素雅，合适作为供佛仪典之器。盏沿下一圈微敛，为持用方便而设，胎厚扎实，保茶汁温热而不烫手，釉黑润亮，托衬宋时点茶击拂茶水后，所得茶面细沫，白黑相映，瞬息美哉。故宫博物院亦藏有相似建窑茶盏，参阅《故宫博物院藏文物珍品大系—两宋瓷器（下）》，第222页，图204。
