Chinese Qing Dynasty period, Famille Jaune Monochrome garlic moon vase. Potted in moon vase, thick and tall, with bulbous lower region, moon belly, sweeping up into a slender neckline and garlic head on top, emerge two archaic ruyi handles flanked from neck to the shoulder rim, create majestic handles, raised on short rectangle foot base with slight concave footing. All reserved hand painted ornamentations are rendered in famille jaune fine color. Famille Jaune meaning the yellow family. This is a variant of the famille verte enamel palette in which the ground is covered with yellow enamel. Yellow in Chinese it is called Huang You.
