signed WANGRONG, inscribed, and with one seal of the artist ink and color on silk, hanging scroll Wang Rong (1896-1972), native to Shexian County, Anhui Province. In his early years, he worked as an apprentice in Lanxi, Zhejiang Province, and later made a living by painting charcoal paintings in Shanghai. Since 1934, he has been teaching in Jinghua Academy of fine arts, Department of fine arts of Beijing Furen University and Beijing Normal University.
