“釉里红”是以氧化铜为呈色剂的高温釉下彩，是将青、红两种釉下彩绘于同一器物上的装饰。创烧自元代，明代洪武及清代康雍干三朝最为兴盛，从烧成技术上看，要得到好的釉里红和青花颜色，各自都需要在特定的烧成制度下进行。要将两种颜料在统一的烧成制度下烧成，必须寻找在同一制度下烧成的釉里红配方和青花配方，因此成功率极低。本品以蓝色为地，以青花、釉里红以及豆青釉绘仙鹤、灵芝、仙桃等纹饰，仙鹤谐音“鹤”，灵芝与仙桃寓意“长寿”，组成贺寿的主题，很是吉祥。
