Two gilded famille rose lidded teabowls and saucers, Mid 18th century, China, An unusual pair of oversize teabowls and saucers with covers. Decorated with a rare heavily gilded scene of a Buddha or Buddhist monk and a boy (the boy is either giving or accepting a peach from the older man). Not marked. Saucers: D 13.5 cm, Cups: D 10.2 cm, H 5.5 cm, From the 'Stichting Bonhomme Tielens'. Good condition. Some wear of the decoration on the saucer. No hairlines and no restoraration. One saucer not completely round.
