此鼓钉三足炉，平口，体扁如鼓，口沿内侈。上下饰小圆珠一周，形似鼓钉，平底微垂，方款居中。下承三兽蹄足，秀气精致。炉身两侧饰双狻猊耳，高额耸阔，毛发卷曲，圆目微睁，威武霸气，狻猊，中国古代神话传说中龙生九子之一，形如狮，喜烟好坐，其形象一般多出现在香炉上，吞云吐雾，也有古书记载是外貌与狮子相似能食虎豹之猛兽，亦有威武百兽率从之意。炉全身通体黝黑，原皮原色，斑驳犹如云霞，变幻莫测。铜质精良坚密，抚之细腻，宝光内蕴。内膛干净利落，三足露胎处铜色金黄，炉壁似薄但坠手，叩之余音绵绵。“大明宣德年制”六字楷书款，铸后修刻，字体深峻，奏刀精准，炉中妙品。
