Each panel with herons underneath a blooming willow amidst lotus plants in inlays of carved bone, mother-of-pearl and wood on a blue lacquer ground, the small panel in the lower portion displaying dragons and small clouds in carved bone. The frame of each panel imitating carved red lacquer and displaying blossoms amidst dense foliage, the backside of the screen decorated in the same technique with wild geese flying over reeds on a black ground, the panels in the lower portion displaying various insects in mother-of-pearl, the red lacquer frame engraved with a meander border and phoenixes and kiri branches. On metall rollers. A small restoration to one corner, a few minor lossed to the inlay and a few cracks especially in the blue lacquer.
