Tabernacle aedicula, Tuscany 15th century, height 120 x width 56 x depth 17 cm, stone, in the style of the Italian early renaissance. Early Renaissance structure, rectangular tabernacle door opening into an arched niche cavity, surmounted by a round arch with shell motif, flanked by flat pillars with volute capitals and decorative pilaster supports in the form of candelabra. Straight, high entablature with cymation frieze. Crowned by a semi-circular arch with tongue-leaf frieze, in the arch half-figure of Christ in three-quarter relief, lateral rosettes with raising palmettes. Below the base are centrally descending cornucopias, between them a winged angel head. Fine sculptural work, meticulously executed in Botticino marble, with slightly speckled patina due to age. Roughly hewn on the sides and verso for masonry. Mounted on a modern iron frame.
