signed JINCHENG, inscribed, and with two seals of the artist ink and color on silk, hanging scroll Jin Cheng (1878–1926) was a leading painter in Beijing in the early years of the Republic of China.He is one of the earliest Chinese painters who came into contact with Western painting.At the beginning of the century when he studied abroad,it was the heyday of French Impressionism's influence on European art,which had an impact on Jincheng which had a strong interest in Western art.
