A LARGE GILTWOOD EMPIRE TRUMEAU Denmark, late 18th/early 19th century. 224 x 113 cm Rectangular gilt wood frame with Classical frieze, upper cartouche with relief carved griffins, two-part mirror glass, inscribed at the back "Speil". A very few minor restorations. Similar Trumeaus were designed for the Green Closet in Christian VII's Palace at Amalienborg. According to the accounts designed by Joseph Christian Lillie (1760-1827).
