A TRANSITION PERIOD PAINED AND PARTLY SILVERED CONSOLE TABLE Naples, circa 1780 94 x 146 x 68 cm With a very nice miniature in the oval reserve on the front. Painted in white and silver with relief worked silvered decorations in "mecca" style. "Giallo di Siena" marble top. Some restorations, some damages due to age, marble top chipped. A very rare console, because there is hardly any example of furniture from this short period between Louis XV and Louis XVI in Italy. The delicacy of the movements on a neoclassical basis shows us the high quality of the neoclassical furniture at Naples and earlier the kingdom of Caserta.
