霁蓝釉描金皮球花纹玉堂春瓶为清晚期官窑烧造的品种，在《光绪廿六年庚子大运传办瓷器清单》中，记载为“天青釉描金皮球花玉堂春瓶”，专作赏赐之用。此对拍品撇口，长颈，溜肩，球形腹，圈足。瓶身通体施霁蓝釉为地，浓艳深沉，釉面润透。其上描绘各式花样的金彩皮球花，金彩艳丽，尽显祥瑞吉庆，布局匀称，线条细腻流畅。口沿、肩部、胫部分饰如意纹、缠枝花绘纹、变形莲瓣纹。整器造型规整，绘工精巧细致，纹饰华丽，金彩绚丽，霁蓝庄重静穆，交错相映，有富丽堂皇之感。底书“大清光绪年制”六字双行楷书款。参阅：1. 《中国清代官窑瓷器》，南京博物院，2003年，页4822. 《清宫瓷器档案》——江西九江关造具光绪三十二年分烧造大运及奉文传办各项瓷器花名件数分装桶数清册
