铭文：师作尊鼎其万年子子孙孙永宝用享
北宋以降，品鉴收藏上古青铜器的风尚逐渐在文人士大夫阶层中流行起来，伴随着收藏和赏鉴的不断深入，当时的制铜名家将商周青铜器的样式与这一时期新的制铜技术相结合，制作了一批既具仿古意味，又有时代特点的青铜器作品。明王朝建立后，于宣德三年工部曾命人仿照宋人《考古图》、《博古图》诸书所记商周青铜器器形，铸造仿古铜器，开明清仿古风尚。此器直口折沿，双立耳微侈，长方形腹，下承四柱足；口沿下一饰带，饰变形夔龙纹浅浮雕一周，腹部以扉棱为中轴两两相对，饰兽面纹，余处以雷纹填地。此鼎铸造工艺精致，器型稳重圆浑，器壁厚实，手感沉重，包浆自然，色泽古雅，造型仿古，规整文雅，纹饰生动，置于文房书斋古拙之气自生。
