Jack Fellows (American, B. 1941) "F-4 Phantom II" Signed lower left. Original Oil painting on Masonite. Provenance: Collection of James A. Helzer (1946-2008), Founder of Unicover Corporation. This painting was originally published on the Republic of the Marshall Islands 32c F-4 Phantom II stamp issued August 28, 1998. The F-4 Phantom II was the U.S. Navy's first fighter plane to operate without conventional guns, carrying only missiles for armament. In addition, the Phantom was the first fighter to employ a radar that enabled it to detect and destroy any target within range without benefit of ground control. Image Size: 16.5 x 13.75 in.
