PROVENANCE: From private collectors in Hilton Head, South Carolina. Measurements: Height: 33.3 cm, Diam: 19.7cm Chinese Ming Dynasty Jiajing Blue and White Porcelain Meiping Jar. The porcelain potted into a traditional Meiping form, large, thick and tall potted, wide body on shoulder, slender neck easing to form narrow opening, with emerging slight flaring ring mouth rim, raised on round foot base, with slight concave. Hand painted ornamentations are rendered in clean white base color which contrast against blue fine color, depicted of chief writing on the desk and their colleague talking surrounded with flowers bloom, dense tree and enclosed with flying phoenix. There is not any overlap of the outlines, its well carved, clear, subtle, and distinct.The under base bears a reign mark, a six under glazed blue script characters reign mark. Made in The Years JiaJing Reign Period of The Great Ming Dynasty.
