signed BAIXUESHI,inscribed,and with one seal of the artist dated Gengwu year（1990） ink and color on paper Bai Xueshi (1915-2011) was from Beijing.From a young age,he studied with acknowledged masters.In the years 1937-1948,his work was exhibited at solo and group exhibitions.He was a member of various associations,including the Chinese Painting Research Association.In 1958,he joined the Beijing Art School,he Beijing Art Academy and the Central Academy of Fine Arts,where he taught and eventually became a professor.Bai was a landscape painter,and he produced numerous large paintings for the Zhongnanhai government compound,the Great Hall of the People,the Beijing Hotel and the Diaoyutai State Guesthouse.
